About Omegle Redux
Omegle Redux is a random chat platform for meeting new people through text or video. No profiles, no algorithms trying to keep you scrolling, just a quick and simple connection with someone you haven't met before. It's free, open to anyone, and it doesn't ask for your email or any account setup to get started.

Do I need an account?
No. Omegle Redux does not require an account, email address, or profile. You can open the app and start searching.
How does matching work?
When you start searching, you are placed in a queue and matched with another available user. You can optionally enter interests in Settings, which helps match you to people with similar interests.
Why do you need my camera and microphone?
Camera and microphone access is requested before you enter the search queue. The devices are used for the video and audio components of the chat and are shared with your match. You can mute your microphone or disable your video at any time during a chat.
Can my match see my IP address?
We do not share your IP address with your match. However, video and audio use peer-to-peer (P2P) connections with STUN servers. This is how the technology works, and your partner could still obtain your IP address while the connection is being established.
Are chats recorded?
We do not save your chat messages, audio, video, or WebRTC content to our servers. Messages and connection data are only relayed while the chat is active or while you're in the search queue. Your history and preferences are stored locally in your browser.
What does chat filtering do?
When enabled in Settings, chat filtering censors recognized offensive words in messages displayed by your browser. It is a client-side feature and is not a substitute for reporting harmful behavior or ending a chat.
What is stored on my device?
Your browser may store your theme choice, settings, policy confirmation, and previous chat history. You can remove it by clearing this site's cookies and browser storage.
Why can't I start searching?
You must allow access to both your camera and microphone before searching. Access may also be blocked if your IP address has been temporarily banned for violating the service Guidelines.
